PRESS RELEASE

Malmö 2022-11-18

GP Last makes its biggest investment ever!

After almost 70 years in its current premises, GP Last will move to new, customised premises in January 2024. This represents a significant investment for the future. GP Last will then be able to offer its customers twice as much storage space and three times more pallet spaces than before. It also gives GP Last an opportunity to invest more in third-party logistics – the part of the business that CEO Johan Borglin believes has the greatest development
potential right now.

– “We have a large influx of customers in third-party logistics because we offer high quality services,” says logistics manager Paul Andersson. With this investment, we can help more new customers develop and grow. We provide all the services that allow our customers to focus on their core business, which is our concept of success,” Paul clarifies.

The new facility at Koksgatan 21 in Malmö is currently being customised by Castellum to meet GP Last’s needs. Castellum has been very responsive to our requests, even though we are only tenants,” says Johan Borglin. An important advantage of the investment in new premises is that it will be more pleasant for all of us staff to work,” he continues. It will be brighter, fresher and more inspiring. He also emphasises that logistics will be easier, as we have contemplated how we want to work and organise the premises in a smarter way.

As GP Last’s new premises are just a stone’s throw from the previous ones, access to major transport routes will be as quick and easy as before. GP Last will continue to cooperate with Schenker, which means that they handle parts of Schenker’s domestic haulage, mainly the Malmö-Stockholm route. The trucks also serve Kristianstad and Gotland. In addition to scheduled traffic, GP Last also operates distribution services for Schenker.

– “Thanks to the hard work of the management and staff, in recent years we have managed to turn a negative trend in the company into positive figures,” says Johan Borglin. The future looks bright for GP Last, and the investment in the new premises gives us the opportunity to grow and develop as a company.
